How Clifford Beal and Holograph look after personal information.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Clifford Beal, an author. Clifford Beal is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. Holograph Limited, which builds and hosts the site, processes personal information on his behalf as a data processor. Holograph Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 10228917 and has its registered office at 11 High Street, Battle, East Sussex, TN33 0AE.

For privacy questions, contact support@cliffordbeal.com. Holograph Limited's data protection contact is dpo@holograph.digital.

2. What we collect

We collect the information you choose to give us: your first name if you provide it, your email address, and your consent to receive news. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. Our hosting provider also processes limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages and security logs when you visit the site.

3. Why we use it and our lawful basis

We use your information to send news, book updates and occasional dispatches. The lawful basis is consent, and you can withdraw it at any time. We use enquiry information to reply to you, on the basis of our legitimate interests in responding, or consent where required. We use technical and security information to keep the site available and secure, prevent abuse and diagnose faults, on the basis of our legitimate interests. We may also use information where necessary to comply with the law.

4. Cookies

The public website does not set analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The separate CMS administration area uses a necessary session cookie for signed-in administrators. Because the public site uses no non-essential cookies, it does not show a cookie banner.

5. Sharing

We share personal information only as needed with Holograph Limited as platform provider and host, email delivery providers used to send the newsletter, professional advisers where necessary, and authorities where required by law. We do not sell personal information.

6. International transfers

The site is hosted in the United Kingdom. If a service provider processes information outside the UK, we will use the appropriate safeguards required by data protection law.

7. How long we keep it

Newsletter information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Enquiries are kept for up to 12 months after the matter is closed. Security logs are kept for up to 12 months. We may keep information longer where the law requires.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise a right, email support@cliffordbeal.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

9. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No website or transmission is completely secure.

10. Children

The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
